The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab: A Celebration of Luxury and Legacy

Elie Saab’s show, The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab, was a beautiful celebration of 45 years of his iconic brand. Part of the 2024 Riyadh Season, it truly amazed audiences around the world with its perfect mix of fashion, culture, and entertainment.

It took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in keeping with the Middle East’s embrace of luxury and culture. Saab’s collection was inspired by a compilation of the Arabic tale of One Thousand and One Nights, which was re-enacted in his distinctive couture style. The runway showcased almost 300 pieces that mixed modern luxury with traditional Arabian designs.

Models walked in everything from feathered gowns that captured 1920s glamour to shiny metallic outfits showing elegance, along with soft, flowing floral dresses that reflected Saab’s romantic touch. Supermodels like Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, and Jourdan Dunn brought the brand’s signature elegance to life.

Halle Berry opened the event wearing her famous 2002 Saab Oscars gown, which is known for its dramatic burgundy skirt and mesh torso with floral embroidery. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley brought her signature elegance, while Monica Bellucci looked stunning in a simple black gown. Arab celebrities like Rym Saidi and Nadine Nassib Njeim, who wore a deep blue dress, also made an appearance, demonstrating Saab’s ability to close the gap between Middle Eastern and international fashion.

The runway at Elie Saab’s 45th-anniversary fashion show was as spectacular as the performances. In one of her first big appearances since her comeback, Celine Dion gave a heartfelt performance that deeply moved the crowd. Staying with the event’s theme, Jennifer Lopez surprised everyone with a stunning entrance and performed in a sparkling, tasseled Saab bodysuit. Camila Cabello lit up the stage in a pink, glittery dress that perfectly captured Elie Saab’s elegant style, bringing her lively energy to the night. Her vibrant performance was just one of many unforgettable moments from the event. Music icons Nancy Ajram and Amr Diab gave thrilling performances, adding a regional flair. Lebanese pop star Nancy, famous for her catchy songs, and Egyptian legend Amr, known for blending traditional Arabic music with modern beats, brought excitement and cultural energy to the show.

The event, hosted during the Riyadh Season, was a truly special occasion. It wasn’t just a showcase of breathtaking designs—it was a celebration of Arab culture and global artistry. Saab’s collection honored his Lebanese roots while highlighting his remarkable success as a leader in haute couture. The designs seamlessly merged luxury with cultural meaning, underlining his role as a designer who bridges heritage and modernity. This spectacular evening solidified Saab’s reputation as a true master of elegance and innovation. By blending creativity with a heartfelt recognition of his roots, the show made a lasting impact, reaffirming his dedication to preserving and elevating cultural identity in fashion.
