The Power of Not Doing: Eleventy’s SS26 Philosophy

Isn’t it a bit paradoxical that a brand can succeed by choosing to define itself by what it doesn’t do? Embracing “not doing” can become a clear strategy of restraint and focus, and Eleventy is the perfect example of such a technique: it doesn’t shout, it doesn’t flaunt oversized logos, and it doesn’t chase trends for the sake of spectacle. Instead, in a world where fashion so often feels like a competition for attention, it has built its reputation on quiet confidence achieved through precise tailoring and elegance. Eleventy offers something refreshingly different: clothes that speak softly but say so much about the wearer’s taste.

So, what is the signature of the brand? It is its refusal to compromise its identity. Even though many labels pivot by adding and removing multiple pieces season after season to keep up with fleeting trends and meet changing consumer demand, Eleventy is staying loyal to its Italian roots of craftsmanship, maintaining its authentic value. As it unveiled during its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, that philosophy was on full display, proving once again that true luxury isn’t about being the loudest in the room, but about knowing exactly who you are and never wavering from it.

During the presentation, we had the opportunity to talk with Eleventy’s Creative Director, Marco Baldassari, and asked about the philosophy of the brand, its approach to design, and how it’s adapting to the expectations of today’s more conscious consumers.

So, how has Eleventy managed to carve out its own space with such an understated, sophisticated approach in a market often dominated by bold branding and conspicuous logos?

At the SS26 event itself, the mood was unmistakably Eleventy, with clean lines, soft neutrals, and airy, tailored silhouettes that are designed to last more than one season. During our dialogue with Marco Baldassari, he made it clear how intentional this consistency has been from the very start. He described Eleventy as “from the beginning a non-showoff brand, no big logos,” emphasizing that even the logo itself was crafted to be “more understated, more chic, more high quality but not to show off,” offering clients the quiet assurance of quality that can be felt; there is no need to broadcast it.

This continuity is no publicity stunt but a deeply held conviction that has guided Eleventy through every phase of its existence. Trends came and went, but the brand’s vision remained steady. “Over the years, we always trust and believe in our path, no matter the ups and downs,” he reflected, referring to the discipline it took to resist the pressure of a market obsessed with the “new”.

That disciplined approach extends beyond design to Eleventy’s core idea of “smart luxury.” It’s a promise to deliver exceptional quality without the inflated price tags that too often define the high-end market. As he explained, “we believe in smart luxury, which is to offer the best high-quality product at the best price, so we always wanted to offer a good balance between these two things,” a commitment, he added, that “is very much appreciated by our consumers.” This transparent pricing isn’t just smart business—it’s a quiet challenge to an industry that sometimes forgets value should mean more than a status symbol.

Indeed, younger consumers, particularly Gen Z, increasingly value quality and authenticity, which seems to align well with Eleventy’s approach.

It’s also a message that resonates powerfully with the next generation of fashion consumers. As Gen Z buyers increasingly demand authenticity and accountability, Eleventy has embraced that need for transparency. He pointed out that “also Gen Z want to know more about their clothes, they want to know the journey of production, they want to know each step,” explaining how the brand now includes QR codes in every garment so customers can “discover the certification of materials and the process of production and new generations love that.”

As a final question, if you had to choose three words to describe this collection, which ones would you choose?

The SS26 collection itself embodies these values with graceful ease. Soft, breathable fabrics are tailored to move with the body, cuts are versatile enough for both city life and leisure, and a muted, timeless palette encourages layering and longevity. When asked to sum up the collection in just a few words, the Creative Director chose carefully and deliberately: “timeless, comfort, versatile.”
